My 2 cents: his statement is a "guess" (since he can't tell the future), there is no truth / lie factor to it, only right or wrong. If he doesn't know about it, he can't lie about it, so likely his nose won't grow.
But if he said "I know for a fact that my nose will grow now"... that's another story.
